Skill Competition: A Dazzling "Welding" Showdown
August 23rd, the 3rd Welding Skill Competition of Ant Machinery kicked off in a lively atmosphere. This skill feast, combining competitiveness and practicality, is not only a comprehensive review of the technical skills of frontline welders but also a vivid interpretation of Ant Machinery’s "craftsmanship spirit". Amid the lingering summer warmth in the factory area, dozens of welding technicians gathered at the competition site, filled with dedication and passion for their craft, kicking off a collision of sparks and craftsmanship.
At the opening ceremony, Li Peng, Chairman of Ant Machinery, delivered a speech. He emphasized: “Welding technology is the quality cornerstone of core products such as aerial work platforms. This competition is not only aimed at identifying skilled talents but also at building a technical exchange platform, integrating the concept of ‘striving for excellence’ into every weld seam.” He encouraged the contestants to learn through competition and showcase the professional demeanor of Ant Machinery’s technicians.
Theory Lays the Foundation, Tempering Solid Skills
In the theoretical examination session, contestants reviewed questions calmly and answered with concentration, demonstrating solid professional literacy through the flow of their pens. The test paper covered core contents such as welding principles, metal material properties, and welding processes for key structures of aerial work platforms, comprehensively assessing the contestants’ mastery of welding technical specifications and product quality standards. “Only by thoroughly understanding the theory can we accurately control every welding parameter in practical operations,” said the person in charge of the technical department who supervised the examination on site.
Practical Competition: Sparks Fly in Welding
As the core of the competition, the practical operation session pushed the event to a climax. Contestants were required to complete the simulated welding of key structural components of aerial work platforms within a limited time, covering the entire process of material selection, assembly and positioning, parameter adjustment, welding forming, and fine cleaning. Amid flying welding sparks, they focused on operating the welding torches, achieving uniform and smooth weld seams through stable electrode movement speed and precise current control.
This practical assessment adopted the standard of “double-sided inspection + multi-dimensional scoring”, focusing on testing more than 10 core indicators such as weld reinforcement, height difference, width uniformity, and undercut depth. The strictness of the assessment was aligned with the military-grade welding quality standards of Ant Machinery’s products. The jury, composed of senior welding engineers, conducted accurate scoring on each welded part through methods such as magnifying glass observation and ruler measurement.
Honors Conferred to Inspire Future Endeavors
After the dual assessment of theory and practical operation, 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes, and 5 encouragement prizes were finally selected. The company will hold a grand award ceremony to present honorary trophies, certificates, and special rewards to the winning contestants. These heavy honors are not only a recognition of individual skills but also a tribute to the craftsmanship spirit of “focus, dedication, and pursuit of perfection”.

Cultivating Talents Through Competition, Building the Future Together
The successful holding of this competition not only selected a group of “skilled welders” with excellent skills but also created a strong atmosphere of “learning from each other, competing for excellence” in the factory area. Ant Machinery has always regarded talent cultivation as the core driving force for high-quality development, and continuously strengthens the construction of the technician team through mechanisms such as skill competitions and mentoring inheritance.
“Every qualified weld seam is a guarantee for product safety,” said the production director of Ant Machinery. In the future, the advanced welding techniques emerged from the competition will be incorporated into the standardized process to further improve the welding accuracy of the core structures of aerial work platforms.
Based on the present and looking forward to the future, Ant Machinery will continue to uphold the concept of “people-oriented, technology creates the future”, deepen the cultivation of skilled talents, integrate the craftsmanship spirit into the entire product life cycle, and continuously provide global customers with highly reliable aerial work equipment and professional services, forging an industry-trusted brand with technical strength.
